Brandon Dingess is the co-founder and content manager of Goblins and Growlers, a Richmond, Virginia-based TTRPG events and content company. He also plays a triple-multiclassed over-the-hill pro wrestler in the actual-play podcast "Quid Pro Roll" and co-hosts "The Goblins and Growlers Podcast," a bi-weekly show that muses on various gaming and TTRPG interests. So what does a TTRPG events company look like? Think about trivia night at your local brewery, and replace the Trivia with D&D. Much better, right? Maybe I’m biased because I’m terrible at trivia. Goblins and Growlers has a pretty cool origin story, and I think you’ll enjoy learning all about it, how they’ve pivoted during the Quarantimes, and about Brandon’s other podcasts.
As usual, I’ve got a few items of business to go over before we jump into the interview. If you’ve been hanging around before, you know that I sometimes mention some of the other things we do at Lightheart Adventures, like our map packs over on DM’s Guild. Our most recent publications are a Copper best-seller of an all-color map pack for Candlekeep Mysteries that highlights sections of the book that didn’t come with their own maps and our Silver best-seller black and white map pack for Rime of the Frostmaiden. With Wild Beyond the Witchlight releasing last week, I’m excited to say that we will have a new map pack coming out for this latest D&D adventure very soon! Brenton powered through the book on a speed read and is already hard at work on developing some battle maps to help fill in the gaps. Follow us on Twitter at LightheartADV to keep up with when we release this new map pack, and you can find all of our map packs by either going to DMsguild.com and searching for Lightheart Adventures as the author, or you can go to lightheartadventures.com/shop to find all our DM’s Guild and DrivethruRPG publications in one spot.
Alrighty, let’s go meet Brandon.
